{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real}~ April 19, 2015

I'm once again joining Leila at Like Mother, Like Daughter for {phfr}.

{Pretty}

Spring has thoroughly and completely sprung around here, so the scenery looks like this:

Sorry for the reflection, but I was taking this from the truck window.  We drive through some pretty nice country on our way to my mother-in-law's about twenty minutes south of town.  It was a perfect day.

Meanwhile, back at the homestead, this is the scenery currently:

This area lies between the house and the pond.  I am loving the wildflowers, which I think are a kind of phlox.  Such a gorgeous color!

{Happy}

Lizzie and family gave Dave, Hannah, and me each a brightly colored mug for Christmas 2013, and I was sad when the handle fell off this one.  It literally just came off in my hand with no bumping or whacking when I was washing it one day.  I knew I could glue the handle back on, but I worried about using it to drink actual liquids, especially hot ones, in case the handle didn't hold.  So I bought this succulent at the nursery this past week and stuck it in the mug along with a little dirt.  I'm happy to have found a use for it at last.

{Real}

Parts of that picturesque scenery from the pond are not so picturesque.  There are trees that we cut down a few weeks ago littering the landscape.  They will eventually be cut into logs for the fireplace, but in the meantime, here they lie.

Thank you for stopping by!

  1. I just found your blog today. I am a LCMS Christian. Good to meet another Lutheran. What is the difference between AALC and LCMS?

  2. Not much, Lee Ann, except for the size. The AALC has fewer than 100 churches, while the LCMS has . . . a bunch more. We adhere to the Book of Concord, and the AALC and the LCMS have altar and pulpit fellowship with each other. The AALC was formed when the ALC met its demise. The AALC sprang from the conservative, confessional branch of the ALC while the "other side" became the ELCA. But we existed first. :)

    So glad you stopped by, Lee Ann!
